Old road frames with a braze-on derailleur mount were designed for large road rings. They aren't compatible with sub-compact chainrings
This adapter for the frame front derailleur braze-on allows you to mount your derailleur lower (8.5mm to 16mm) to get it to work with smaller chainrings.
