FAQ's

Q: How do I get the bell off of the box?
A: Use a small hex wrench to loosen the bolt on top of the bell. After a couple of turns, the bar plug should be slack enough to allow you to open the side flap and slide it out.

Q: My bell has stopped ringing. Just "thuds".
A: The four most common issues causing this is

  1.  Something such as your grip, bar tape, even your finger is touching the dome preventing the dome from resonating
  2.  The center bolt is too tight. Bolt should be snug, but not to max. torque. Try using some blue loctite if it comes loose over time.
  3.  When the hammer is at rest, the hammer end should not be touching the dome.  At rest the hammer should be fully off the dome by a few mm. If the striker is touching the dome, gently bend it back.
  4. The bell does require a real push of the hammer to ring well; sometimes a light flick will result in a "dink" or "thud"

Installation Help

Q.: How to install:
A.: Remove existing bar plug from your drop bar. Back out the bolt on the bell a little so the expander is narrower. Insert the bell in along with the ends of the bar tape. Rotate the bell until the lever is orientated where you want.  Tighten the bolt until the expander is snug in the bar. Avoid overtightening.

Q: How should I orientate the bell on my bars?
A. Usually your thumb can comfortably operate the bell with the lever facing down or inward. It depends if you want to activate it with your thump or one of your fingers.
